Vacation

Hi guys, sorry for the lack of activity and all that the last couple of days, despite so much new stuff going on due to 1.11 (probably). Unfortunately I'm stuck living in a cabin out by the sea with no internet, and tomorrow I'm going on a vacation from my vacation by going to Paris. Really sucks that there's been so little activity lately from the blog and I just want to make sure to you that I'm still here. Summertime is hard though.

1.12 Info...already!

Yep. The Under Development page has been updated with what's in store for 1.12. Cross-server Battlegrounds and outdoor Battlegrounds. And of course the Rogue Review! Let's all pray for a speedy release and hopefully the awaited Protection tree changes.

The Most Off-topic Post Ever

Sorry, I know this is highly off-topic, but it's about one hour away now from the World Cup game between England and Sweden. Heja Sverige! Please beat England's butt like you've done now continiously for a couple of decades. I pray for the well-being of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and hope seeing him out on the field.

Edit: 2-2. Both England and Sweden continue out from the group. Yay.

1.11 Out Soon

Tigole's informing that testing of 1.11 is wrapping up.

Cool... 1.12 draws closer. And that might be the patch which would complete our talent review.

Edit: It's out!

Far and Few Between

I've noticed that there's been a sharp visitor decline in the past couple of days. I have to say I can't blame you since there hasn't been that many updates recently. To be frank, it's hard to spot really interesting topics and subjects in Paladin community right now. Much of the discussions that take place are just advancements and reiterations of things that have been discussed plenty of times before.

Blizzard's very tight-lipped and Eyonix certainly hasn't given us any catering lately. Kinda frustrating, but I think he can't really dwelve on what's coming for us since 1.11 still is up on the PTR. Giving us 1.12 info is "too soon" me thinks. But overall I just want to stop talking about how the Protection tree is a pile of garbage, because it just makes me mad considering that it's been six months since we got our talent review.

But just so you guys know, I'm still here. If there's anything you find special and want to be brought up, send me an email.

By the way, I've thought about giving the blog a facelift since we're approaching the one year mark (!). Stay tuned.

The Least Picked Talents

It's been up for a while, but Gregthegreat has a great list he's assembled of the least picked Pally talents. Check it out. Guess which tree is being looked down upon? Yep - Protection. Humans breathe air and the sky is blue.

No Patch Today?

I log on to see the usual empty server list, but no updater running. Does this mean the patch has been postponed? From a Paladin's perspective, I certainly hope so. Blizzard still hasn't worked out the bugs they created in Seal of Command as far as I know. The more time they spend debugging, the better as far as I'm concerned. After all, there's very little for our class in this patch anyway.

On a side note, I've really been enjoying my Hunter in PvP - especially in Alterac Valley. From what I understand, Blizzard has finally fixed the geography exploit that allowed Horde to run up behind and jump into the bunker closest to the bridge at the Alliance base. The 1.11 AV's should run faster, too. They weren't kidding about removing many NPC's and nerfing the health on the remaining ones. I'm just thankful that on live realms, there won't be as many Shamans. Every AV that I played on the PTR was jam-packed with Chain Lightning/Warstomp spamming n00bz that pushed the Horde steadily forward to an eventual win.

Survivability?

Brad just sent me an email that his colleague just got back from his 5-month deployment in Iraq (bless both you guys' service) and his friend told him that he had just PVP:d and "Paladins are a lot easier to kill than they were before I left" and then asks what happened?

Good question. Was the Forbearance debuff really that large of a nerf? Are we really so much easier to kill than before?

Seal of Command.... More bugs!

As alerted by Snow in the post below, Madawk brought to the attention on the test server that Judgement of Command has a flat 5% crit rate independant from spell or melee crit! Thankfully this was confirmed to be a bug by a blue later in the post.

Yet, Madawk also brings to attention that Seal of Command now seems to have a 0.5 second delay between the white damage and the yellow damage. As someone else remarked in that thread; Seal of Command was fixed in 1.10 from a 16 month old bug, and now they go in and alter an ability that was never deemed to be overpowered to begin with! Weird.

Eyonix is going to do some checking...

...if we've got something in store:
Over the next couple of days I'll be in discussions with various designers, specifically the class team. I'm going to see if any information is available that might be of interest to this community. Hopefully, we'll have some news to gnaw on sometime in the next few weeks.
