1.12 Info...already!

Yep. The Under Development page has been updated with what's in store for 1.12. Cross-server Battlegrounds and outdoor Battlegrounds. And of course the Rogue Review! Let's all pray for a speedy release and hopefully the awaited Protection tree changes.

My gut feeling is that they will probably slip us tiny buffs before 1.12. They put in some warrior Prot talents in 1.11 and then pulled them, so I would think the class team would be spending some time with those neglected Prot trees before moving to the rogue review, since they seem to feel rogues are pretty much fine as is. I'm pesstimistic about any really nice changes for paladins, though keep in mind our best buff yet (HoW) was almost a footnote in the patch. For my young rogue's sake, I hope they fix the stupid vanish bug.

When it comes to PvP, the devil will be in the detail. It could be great, or it could be the immense failure that finally spells an end to PvP.

As for Paladin talent changes, I wouldn't hold out hope. Rogues are in need of quite a few fixes (to improve what they bring to the table vs. DW Fury Warriors), the Warrior Prot tree remains a joke, and further tweeks are likely to be needed to Shaman and Mage trees. Paladins will be at the bottom of that long list, so there is almost certainly not going to be the time to give the Paladin prot tree a comprehensive review (especially given the schizo view of Paladins which Blizz seem to have).

Well, we live in hope ;).

From the WoW bug forums this afternoon:

"Thank you both Nishadin and Elliandara for the screenshots and Elliandara for the heal interrupt movie you put up on the Paladin forums. This has been reported and is a known bug."

To bad they didnt already know this on the PTR...wait

I've been researching the game development cycle and found this http://ea-spouse.livejournal.com/274.html an interesting look into corporate culture of both the big and little guys.

This blog entry, made in 2004, began an avalanche of lawsuits on behalf of gaming company employees. You'll note that both Vivendi and Blizzard are mentioned on the first page of fifty pages of comments.

And when I read this http://lostgarden.com/2006/04/joyful-life-of-lapsed-game-developer.html
and this http://lostgarden.com/2006/04/managing-game-design-risk-part-i.html
I began to understand why paladins don't get their fixes, why downloading patches is a hair-pulling excercise in frustration, and why every patch brings a new set of problems.

A question I have about linked battle grounds is this: How will trading amongst players be handled?
If it will be allowed, then why not have a friend on another server with a cheaper ecconomy buy you things and hand them to you in BGs? Easy way to trade gold amongst your alts on various servers. And for farmers? Now they can farm on "safe" PVE/RP servers then hand gold off to their partners on the PVP servers.
If trading between players is not allowed in battlegrounds, what happens if you want to give someone a health stone?
