Deathbone Set - Pally Tank Set in 1.10

Here you go, fresh from the PTR forums. It seems as if Blizzard is turning Deathbone into a Paladin tanking set - or at least trying:

Deathbone Chest
637 Armor
+12 Stamina
+17 Defense
+5 Mana/5s

Deathbone Gauntlets
398 Armor
+14 Stamina
+4 Mana/5s
+10 Defense

Deathbone Girdle
358 Armor
+15 Stamina
+4 Mana/5s
+9 Defense

Deathbone Legguards
557 Armor
+20 Sta
+5 Mana\5s
+13 Defense

Deathbone Sabatons
438 Armor
+9 Stamina
+6 Mana/5s
+10 Defense

What you get - lots of Stam, Def, and mana regen.
What you lack - any Str/Agi/Int

How does this help one grab and hold aggro?

I like the direction they are taking this set, but it feels incomplete. Regenerating mana is a great stat for a pally, but it needs to be paired with intellect.

I'd tack on my Stormpike Sage's Pendant and coldforged hammer, combined with iBoW I would be generating 67 mana a tick. Not bad, but nowhere near the rage generation of a warrior. You are still going to run out of mana quickly with no intellect, even generating mana back at a much quicker rate.

If the set stays like it is, I'd like to see it at least address our aggro capabilities. Some form of set bonus that either: increased retribution aura damage/threat, or boosted the threat of Righteous fury, or reduced the cost of judgements and/or holy spells. Something to make up for the fact that our mana pool is gimped with this set.

Never going to happen. The devs have a stick up thier rear about us tanking. People are right about that set not being amazing for tanking but my guess is the devs speficily aimed it at the low end tanking (5/10 man MTing) to make sure it wasn't going to be used in the Core.

In other news, the Holy Shock + Divine Favor bug (where it was not critting when used as a damage spell, only as a healing spell) has FINALLY made the bug list of things to fix.

I actually do got the boots of this set. I mostly kept it around tho cuz of it's spirit since I'm wearing the pvp boots now. Will be something nice to throw on for the mana regen.

I find it kinda funny that a paladin would wear an armor set named "Deathbone"
