Ret Blues

Very good post in defense of Retribution Paladins by Thrommel, check it out. Long and popcornish. Ret has gotten a lot of flack recently, not only due to the outcries of feeling bad in PVE (versus for example Shadow Priests and Feral Druids). And now with the jab in the stomach that Paladin burst damage needs to be nerfed, I feel with you guys. I honestly think that if Paladin burst damage is going to be nerfed, they should lower the cooldown on Crusader Strike or something - at least to make Pally sustainable damage up to par with other hybrid specs.

If we were a healing/tanking hybrid, we should heal and tak better than druids, as they have no less than FOUR venues (not all valid maby), and do most better than us.

Also, why even have ret tree, if it is designed to be "on the lower end of the damage spectrum" anyway.

A deeply specialized "hybrid" should imo be better than a non-specialized "core". That goes for all classes. Also obviously a hybrid should over all be worse in all areas, especally if not specializing.

If they lower paladin dps, they should give ret a variety of strikes on a shared cooldown timer with crusader strike that perform combat options (ie, spell interrupt, party buff for haste, etc).

In other words, retribution paladin should deal more damage then protection warrior - yup, that's how it's now :p.

I'm not Ret (Hell, I'm not even a Paladin anymore, gogo Prot Warrior!), but I must say, this was a remarkable writeup.

Now, you've just got to convince people that the "difficult to observe" benefits that a Ret Paladin brings to a raid outweigh the "pew pew big numberz" benefits that Rogues/DPS Warriors bring.

Yeah I agree with the 2nd post, introduce more strikes sharing c/d with CS and each strike has it's own special ability.
Am looking forward to the upcoming months ahead to see what Blizzard wants to do to 'nerf' Ret burst damage.

P.S. anyone else notice that our raid buff blessing of wisdom is ten yards less than the others?

Perhaps just stop playing WoW? The favourite class in all games isnt viable, focus is at raiding large raids, where it really dont "have" to be..
