Yeah, Draenei Priests get Fear Ward.
However it's not going to be as big of a deal in TBC anymore, apparently Raid bosses will be using "Horror" now which fear ward doesn't protect against. Fear Ward is going to mainly be a PvP skill in TBC.
That's still a pretty big deal.
Also, this doesn't really contain much information. I really hate the part where they say Arena gear will STILL not be as good as Raid gear (only nearly as good). Again Blizzard's intentions to make second-class citizens out of PvP gamers comes to the fore.
I don't understand it, why can't Arena gear be JUST AS GOOD as Raider gear? It's skill-based for crying out loud, there really should be no excuse for any more of this type of behavior from Blizzard. Either they respect PvP gamers or they shouldn't even bother advertising PvP as a feature of their MMO, it's such a disgrace!
Even if currently implemented Arena gear isn't up to snuff, I doubt it will stay that way. Blizz has stated previously that Arena gear was aimed to be on par with raid loot, and it may even be rebalanced before release. Don't be so quick to chalk this sort of game flaws up to their intentions.
They never intended the Paladin to have no end-game either, and so it took them two years to fix that. While this should be resolved more quickly, I don't doubt that eventually WoW pvp will be working as intended.
Addendum:
Jeff Kaplan - "You can get the best rewards in the game on par with the raid game. So, wherever the raid game loot is currently at, the PvP arena system will match those rewards."
The faq does NOT specify arena rewards and non-arena pvp rewards will not be on par with raid gear, as is known.
All of which explains the changes to the way that items are now going to be rewarded in the new Honour System, and why Arena Rewards (effectively the new PvP ladder) will be as good as raid loot and the old Knight-Lt to GM rewards 'bought' by honour points will remain stagnant.
Bait-and-switch. Time honoured strategy still in use today ;).
Hmm, I would think that the only logical conclusion as to why honor and arena points are "capped" is because they are intending on upgrading items from both. I would assume that once they upgrade Arena items to the next tier, then they would make the old Arena items available to be purchased as Honor items. That would be the only sane way to design this system. I could be wrong, but that's the only method that would make sense.
^ That makes a lot of sense.
As far as Arena loot being/not being on par with raid loot, remember that the two sets are still very different. The Arena sets (which for this run seem to be about the level of tier 4) for every class tend to place emphasis on the traditional PvP stats, e.g. Stamina and Damage. The current Arena set is no exception; it has about 70 more stam over its 5 pieces than Tier 4. Both sets have about the same strength, Tier 4 has more spell damage and int, and the Gladiator's set has more crit.
Essentially, the Tier 4 seems sort of geared towards raid utility, with extra int and more spell damage for occasional heals and higher sustained DPS, while the Gladiators focuses on having high stam and crit for burst damage.
Essentially, the Gladiator set is a bit better for PvP, and the Tier 4 for PvE.
Who'dve thunk it.
That said, they didn't really do a perfect job. Some resiliance would be nice.
Another way they could do this is adding new honor rewards to new Battlegrounds that would be equal to last season's Arena gear. This would tend to discourage hoarding, as one would then require new tokens from the new BGs in addition to honor.
