It's fine, learn 2 play.

I'm now considering retiring this blog.

Caydiem gives explanation to why we're stuck at the Healbot/Cleansebot role in raids and regarding the concerns of Holy Shield. She ends with saying the following, "I apologize if you were seeking large changes from the way Paladins are in 1.9 -- they will not be coming, to my knowledge. The developers consider their work on the talent review complete."

Jobs done. Nothing more can happen. It's over. Happy holidays everybody.

Told you. Now any good players will abandon the class, and reroll a useful class (maybe on the Horde side, making the skill imbalance favor the Horde even more). I, for one, have a 50 Mage, and couldn't be happier. We win most BG encounters, and instances seem to be 10 times easier, because they aren't burdened with a fifth-wheel gimp paladin.

On the other hand, noobs will continue playing the class, and drag down the overall quality of the Alliance on many servers. I wonder if any new Alliance guilds might start excluding paladins completely, preferring to fill their ranks with useful classes.

And I go out of my way in BG to make life miserable for pallies, to punish them for continuing to play the class.

Don't retire it, just reroll. Keep the name but focus on another class. Make it like, Paladins Suck and then have a subtitle 'But X Class doesn't'

I enjoy visiting the site and would hate to see you retire =/

Don't retire the blog, it's still the premeire spot for paladin class griping on the Internet.

It's a shame Blizzard decided to keep the paladin class as-is because of their end game strengths and design. Sure, being a low threat, plate-guarded healer and cleanser helps 5-40 man dungeon raiders a great deal, but it prevents paladins from participating in PvP with the same level of engagement that every other class has (I.E. damage and support + CC utility for casters and hybrids, or all-out damage and offense for rogues and warriors). Furthermore, the population imbalance is a glaring issue that Blizzard's design team had to take into account in this fiasco; the designers couldn't bring the paladin class up to speed in PvP because it would tip the scales even worse (imagine waiting not an hour or two to get into a BG but rather three or four, while the Horde gets to continue joining back-to-back).

Anyways, I'm happier with my shaman.
