Judgement Day.

Todays scheduled maintanance is going to take two more hours and the PTR patch notes said 1/3 would be the day.

Come with me if you want to live!

Today begins a new era of darkness for the paladin!

That concept could have been a good one...Dark Paladin, able to speck to something similar to a shadow priest...since we are nothing but healbots anyway. With 1.9, the Paladin's power is in spells rather than melee...so the base is there. We just need some developers who don't play Shaman to work on it for us.

It is hard to describe how I feel about the upcoming changes for the Paladin class.

Honestly, these changes are not an improvement over the original class, but I don't think it is a nerf either. It is just ... different.

I worry for a couple of my friends who play Paladins. They got their gear and builds to a place where they do a lot of damage. One of my friends regularly beat out everyone else for damage in UBRS runs. He's done it through a lot fo crit and to hit gear. Granted, he's nerfed himself on mana and health (about 3000 each), but he's good at what he does.

The new changes will change his style completely. He'll have to invest in INT gear so he can do more damage, which in turn will lower the amount of damage he does. Kinda a catch-22.

In my opinion, nothing has really changed for the Paladin class. Tanking is still as difficult as it was before and melee damage is still a haphhazard occupation.

What makes me angry is the outright falsehoods Blizzard feed the players about the Paladin class. Stuff like we're good healers because our heals draw no aggro or all classes roles change from when they level to the end game or the higher talent points are supposed to improve the class but just give us more options.

Well, I have my 60 Warrior who plays the same way from level 1 to level 60. His talent points have made him a better class. And that's the character I'll be using until either they really improve the Paladin or I get tire of the hype and move on to DDO.
