AQ Progression

In the official Raid forum, a guy made a thread that links to a mod and a website to download and upload data on how much servers have progressed in opening the AQ gate. Good stuff!

Check out the toplist here.

So, let me see if I get this: they want everyone to participate in "donating" perfectly good items to open up endgame content, so that endgame guilds can then get even better epics, and then can show off those epics and make those of us whith real lives feel even punier in-game.

Great. I'm right on it!

This game seems more and more like a mindless grind every day. What happened to endgame content that favors the wily instead of the unemployed?

I posted this on my inter-guild pvp group's forum. I'll reproduce it here for your enjoyment.

First, the build:
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/paladins2/talents.html?15503102521051000000000000000052050510200000

Holy: highlights include Divine Intellect and Improved Blessing of Wisdom (must-haves for the new more mana-intensive Paladin design), Divine Favor with Illumination and Holy Power for lots of free crit heals, Healing Light, Unyielding Faith (20% fear resist with 7 piece Lightforge set bonus), and Holy Shock - a ranged stinger that can be used to pull mobs or as an added bonus after casting "strikes."

Retribution: highlights include Benediction (46 mana SoC rank 1!), Seal of Command, Eye for an Eye, and maxed out Conviction. Seal of Command is a MUST HAVE for the judgment alone, the melee bonus is icing on the cake.

How to set up your "Strikes."

"Strike of Command"
Create a macro with the following code:

/cast Seal of Command(Rank 5)
/script SpellStopCasting();
/cast Judgement

"Strike of Righteousness"
Create a macro with the following code:

/cast Seal of Righteousness(Rank 8)
/script SpellStopCasting();
/cast Judgement

Note - In order for these "strikes" to work properly, the following conditions must be met:
*Judgment must be cooled down. The build I listed has Improved Judgment so effectively your strikes are on an 8 second cooldown.
*You must have an active seal, otherwise hitting the macro will only cast the seal in the code, without judging it.

Here's a suggested progression:
Judge Wisdom, cast Seal of Command Rank 1 and start meleeing. As soon as your Judgment is cooled down, cast Hammer of Justice and wait for the brief global cooldown before hitting your Strike of Command macro. For added damage, throw in a Holy Shock right afterwards. Remember to recast SoC rank 1 and continue meleeing. While waiting on Hammer of Justice to cooldown, continue casting Strike of Righteousness everytime Judgment cools down. When your target is below 20%, of course, you have the option of using Hammer of Wrath. With Judgment of Wisdom on your target, and Righteous Fury on yourself (it actually increases mana procs from JoW when you do holy damage), you shouln't be losing mana too fast.

The part where it benefits the wily is that AH prices on lower level items has skyrocketed meaning casual players who don't mind grinding for things they are more than capable of grinding for will be able to make quite a bit of gold from this patch.

Also you get access to some okay Epics through repeatable quests. Some of them are MC equal and some are crap (but MC has some crap too. Thunderstrike?)but it does give some advancement.
