Finally some news!

Paladin news has been conspicuously absent these days, but today we finally got something. Fangtooth *still* says that the developers have nothing to release about the class just yet. Read about it here.

Ho hum... no news is good news I guess.

I still have an awful feeling that the Paladin changes are going to be put back till 1.10, and the longer things go without news the more convinced I become of it.

1. I'm having a lot of fun with my rogue and my mage, so I can wait until they fix my pally before he comes out of retirement.

2. I'm somewhat relieved they are taking this long, and wouldn't even mind if they pushed the changes back to another patch. This means the changes will probably be massive compared to those for hunters and druids, commensurate with the level of suckitude of the class.

well, i think blizz will put them in 1.9, but 1.9 will come a lot later than thought. Usually you get leaked notes a few weeks post-patch, couldnt find a word about that all

Once again, we are disappointed by the developers. This is pretty ridiculous.

Let's recap. In May, we were told that the Paladin class was going under review and we should post our suggestions.

After a month of silence, Fangtooth posts the results of the meeting with the developers. Besides the fact that they get some of the spells wrong, they agree that there are problems and promise to look into them.

Then, we hear nothing except vague promises for a month . Then the so-called "Test of Honor" results come out and, surprise, in all of Europe and the US, only one Paladin won on the servers. Heck, Warlocks (the other "broken class") had three times as many winner.

So, the developers panic and start asking Paladins for "more" input and we get a new spell "Hammer of Wrath" to attack runners. We also find out that Fangtooth has "decided" to start a Paladin in a RP-PvP server.

So, again we fill a bunch of thread with a bunch of suggestions. Then we get no response (and some sorry excuses, IMO). Finally, we get a response and it's pretty much the same as the last response in May. Now, the last difinitive news on "Paladin" improvements was in August.

Since then, we are told to be patient and they will come. We are never told, or even given a hint, of what the "improvements" will entail.

This is ridiculous.

I've started a playing a Night Elf warrior while I wait, twinking her with gear nearly every other level from the money I've saved grinding with my Paladin. Even in Warsong rounds where the Horde out play the Alliance and win 3-0, she often comes in first or second on the scoreboard.

I'm discovering how much warriors can own if they're geared properly. It's at least given me a distraction while we wait for changes. I don't think we'll get pushed back, but I agree that it will probably be a while before the patch comes out. I expect to get some official info about our changes around Thanksgiving.

I'm holding off on bitching until 11/22. If they don't update us by then I will complain. Fangtooh has been a little crappy in his feedback. He says he has nothing to tell us, yet the euros get good feedback at least.

The European feedback was simply:

1) A summery of what the EU Paladins wanted to send to the Devs as feedback.

2) A more verbose version of Fangtooth's feeback post.

The Europeans didn't receive more info than the Americans, it is just that Vaneras knows how to keep the forumites happy better than dear Fangy.

Expect the patch around December. Thanksgiving is within a few weeks and my feeling is they won't release the test server during that time. With no news recently, which hints that not even a single change is finalized, expect the patch around december.

I also agree with elderin. I also found it weird that we all of sudden got a lot of attention after the test of honor and fangtooth starts a paladin. I'm pretty sure they were doing absolutely nothing since may and needed some way to calm the crowds down.

I've read on more than one forum post rumors that the new 31 point Retribution talent will be an AOE stun/snare. The more detailed post described it as working thusly: a 1 second stun, followed by a 5 second movement debuff, and followed up with another 1 second stun before the effect wears off. I'm skeptical, naturally, but I thought I'd throw it in the rumor pot for consideration.
