1.9 on PTR

Sweet! Lord Vir pointed this thread out at the post below by Tigole:
...Ahn'Qiraj is nearing completion. Our internal testers have been raiding the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj (20 person zone) nightly. We're putting the final touches on the last bosses in the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (40 person zone). We're really excited for you guys to experience this content. I think we'll have some truly memorable boss encounters here. I promise you -- the final boss of the Temple is unlike anything you've ever seen in an MMO before >=]

Also, the questing for Ahn'Qiraj is complete. There are awesome, hardcore quests in addition to some really cool 5 person content in Silithus (after the gates are open).

In other news, we're also wrapping up our "revisit" of the Tier 2 armor sets. For some classes, we just tweaked the stats here and there. Other classes will be seeing more of a revamp than a revisit. Also, the armor all has unique art now and looks *very* cool in game.

The next step is for us to put everything on the PTR. We'd really appreciate your input when we put the zones on the PTR. That's our final chance to make tuning tweaks and bug fixes before it's live on all servers. Obviously, we can still make bug fixes and tuning tweaks after the zones are live but we'd like to get everything feeling as fun and polished as possible before patch day.

Hope to see you on the PTR in the upcoming weeks! We'll certainly be there...
And adds later...
We will open the gates to the zones on the PTR. We want testers to have access to the encounters.
Lord Vir speculates:
Sounds like it might open up next week....but we haven't had a talent preview yet. Someone mentioned it was the same way with warlocks. They had no preview until the patch was up on test.
I think that's a correct analysis. Seems to me that they're going to hold on with the Paladin talent preview (and an overall preview) until the very end.

Strange, someone keeps posting about 1.9 going to PTR this week, something about the tracker coming up for them? But it keeps getting deleted by blue with no response...

The picture he linked to:

I find it hard to believe it will be ready on Thursday or Friday. Anyone else more familiar with the PTR process know if what this guy is talking about matters? I was only on PTR once for the HoW patch.

hmm, someone else pointed out it looks photoshopped, I agree after a close look.

Fake seeing as it is spelled Authorized.

No both, Authorized and Authorised are correct. Go look it up =)

I highly doubt its photoshopped, but its easy to alter the input size, and filename to download with simple debugging and altering of a previous downloader.exe file.

That is .. if you know what you're doing. :)

Basicly trying to alter the downloader.exe in any form will not enable you to download unreleased material, because they use torrents, which gives specific blocksizes and hashes etc, which can't be forged.

Not photoshopped, but probably easily faked.

"Upcoming weeks." That could mean anything. :( But it does mean that since the raid content is wraping up testing we can expect the PTR to come up maybe even as soon as next week. But since we STILL don't have any news about our changes it could mean they aren't done and they'd rather release the patch with the finished raid content and say screw you paladins! But maybe considering the general bitchy attitude of the paladin community they don't want to release any info because people would whine before trying our the changes. Look at HoW. A general plus to our class and people still found reason to whine. :P Way to ruin it for the rest of us you jerks.

A revisit to the tier 2 sets huh? Does that mean Judgement is now not just a big "Irhealbot" set?

I remembered awhile back seeing a pally in fully Judgement. Not a single str stat whatsoever. I was astounded. On a pvp server, while lots of stam and mana is nice, gimping your only consistant source of damage output is stupid.

Not to mention, the stats don't quite fit with the set name. Rawr, I am a mightly holy warrior that hits like a girl. Fear my impending wrath...no

Heh, I babblefished the korea website here:

http://www.worldofwarcraft.co.kr/info/world/index.html

and I got this back in the paladin section:

Genitals company quality update
The quality of the genitals company is updated. When the quality update follow-through, also the quality will lead and elegance will be the possibility which it will see in advance

---
I noticed this once before digging for paladin info on their website...does paladin somehow translate to...Genitals?

Well, there are 3 words that make up paladin. I can't recall them, however if you put them together a certain way it translates to genitals...

Anyhow I'm all over korean wow fansites and I'm not going to list it all, but I can see talents listed on the front pages of them...Needless to say, some of its hard to translate.

You see talents...as in our new talents on these fan sites? Please post a link. :)

Well its just info on them, and I just found it from Blue on Korean WOW Forums

Again its hard to make out except the fact that blessings being 15 mins is solid, and something about hammer of wrath being instant...

Here...

Throw that link in a translator...Here's the same link via google, goodluck and again this is FROM BLUE AND FROM WOW...

Looks like a pve buff other than hammer of wrath. :/

20 yard judgements don't excite me in pvp.

At least I'll be able to tank better in pve. 0_0

A few people pointed out that blessing of light is missing..maybe those 'leaked' changes I posted awhile back are true...

----
Possible patch notes.

I have a friend who is a GM for Blizzard and he said the devs often discuss upcoming changes with other people in the building (Everyone who works there is supposed to be under NDA). Anyway after a few weeks of me hounding him hes finally given me some info

Healing -
Flash of Light will now heal for ~700 base, and Holy Light will heal for ~1650 base.
Mana costs have been slightly increased and Blessing of Light has been removed.
He also said they are going to add 2 more levels of improved Holy Light and make it so that Flash of Light can be reduced to a 1s cast.

We will still have most of our seals, but they are converting a couple into attacks (SoC). He says we will now have 3-4 combat moves in addition to our Seals. The skill that replaces SoC will be much deeper in the tree than it is currently. They are working on a talent for retribution that significantly increases your DPS for a time period but uses your divine shield cooldown.

Supposedly its going to work soemwhat like mixing grenades with sapper charges, the cooldown on the ability will extend your divine shield cooldown to 1 minute, however if you use divine shield it will be 5 minutes before you can use the ability again.

Also he said dispell, counterspell, lack of a real snare, and lack of a spell interupt are all being addressed, but they aren't 100% sure on how they will handle it

I didn't grill him much about Protection changes but he said the primary changes coming were attempting to make heavily protection specced paladins a better choice for a tank than an arms/fury warrior. He also said reckoning was being looked into for balance issues, they feel with our increased power, abilities like reckoning would be game breaking.

He said they are shooting for paladin talent previews the week of thanksgiving, and test servers up the week after, hope to have the patch live before christmas.

----

Makes sense with Blessing of light being missing. I find the 'combat moves' hard to believe if they didn't post them today. Also the 1second FoL sounds like a bit too much (but I'd take it!)

Could this terribly garbled translation: - "' thoy ' With ' magic the providence rage ' knows en the place tu only the bay even in demon use comes to be possible." possibly mean that Exorcism will now work on demons? That would be RAD.

Also, "- ' The speed where the hammer of the hammer of divine punishment ' flies away comes to be quick." seems to suggest that HoW will become instant cast.
