Relic preview!

Eyonix has given out a couple of examples of upcoming Relics in the game, it'll be Idols for Druids, Totems for Shamans and Librams for Paladins (was librams anything else than what was expected?). Here's a sneak peak at one of ours, by the way:
Paladin

Libram of Hope
Relic
Requires level 57
Equip: Reduces the mana cost of your Seal spells by 20
Totally overpowered? I wonder how easy that libram is to obtain.

Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Actually, it isn't too bad IMO. -20 mana is essentially a 15% reduction in mana cost for seals, all in a slot which we were not until now using. Plus, ilvl 60+ items will hopefully be better again.

Still, gettin some stats from this slot would be pretty nice too :)

It would be nice to have some more options in there. I'd love something with spell or Melee crit. My major concern is that these will be AQ/MC/BWL items. While I get to run MC alot of Paladins can't. And given Blizzards trend of "fixing" itemization by dropping stuff in higher end dungeons....

On the plus side ZG is much faster. I didn't get my group to do Jindo but they removed a bunch of mobs at key choke points and it's going to shave an hour or so off of ZG clears. Tons more rep and 15 bijous on 4 bosses. Coins seemed much more abundant. We're going to do Hakkar tonight so we'll see how that goes.

Think of Benediction talent + this relic. 27 manacost SoC rank 1 ftw.

LOL my thinking exactly - 27 mana costy for SoC rank 1 will be awesome. Personally I like this. I'm only hoping that we'll be able to see the relic when we sheath our weapons. A large tome would be very cool looking.

On another note, I've attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander and now sport the full blue PvP set. As of tonight, I also achieved exalted reputation with Stormpike and bought my TUF and Don Julio's Band. It felt especially good to wtfpwn an epicly geared warrior who wandered over to the stables in AB while I was the only one defending. If you've not tried it, be sure you judge Crusader before popping any other holy damage spells. The damage bonus is significant, and remember - holy damage cuts right through armor.

Although this looks good, and is clearly a buff to hybrids, I really hope to see some librams with stats on. The main gripe with the ranged slot was simply that other classes could obtain higher stats than hybrids, so I would be surprised if none of the relics retified that imbalance - though being WoW I guess I should take everything with a pinch of salt...

for melee type palas this relic is like a stat-bonus. Saving lots of mana is the same as int.

This relic is good or at least helpful for a lot of situations. Since I mostly raid on a PVE server I doubt I would replace my Egan's blaster with this...

Interesting. Patch 1.10 sounds to very promising indeed.

My pally gets to carry around a book and my druid a little doll. Wouldn't it be great if our relics had a throw animation? I'd be spamming it all the time.

And the reduced mana cost on seals? I like that.

"I'll mention it to them and see if I can get an explanation" is in no way a promise. I did mention it to them. I do not have an explanation I can give you at this time. When I have more information, I will share it."

Well, I guess Cay Responded to the thread with her typical non-response.

I won't be hanging around the Paladin forums much anymore until Blizzard actually appoints someone to manage them who has a lvl 60 Paladin.
