General community feeling

Wow. Seems to me like the vast opinion is that these changes simply are bad. They're not as cool or good as the Druids or Hunters, and not as impressive as the developers thought.

I wonder what repercussions this outcry might have. The community managers have been notoriously absent today.

I think the big problem is that unlike Hunters and Druids there is nothing you can look at and say 'wow, that's pretty darn good'. Our 31pt Talents have remained effectively unchanged and most of the new abilities are passive rather than active. Also the sheer number of talents avaliable to Paladins have remained small, to the extent that it will be interesting to see just how they compare to other classes. Finally, the nerf to the 'magic 11 in Holy' is a huge (earth) shock to the Mindset of most people that have been Paladins for the last year.

I think my biggest disappointment is the lack of a new 'uber-talent', for preference instead of BoK (and having a 5pt talent @ 25 req. to improve a base-line BoK from 5% to 10%). However I can see Eye vs Eye being extremely interesting against warlocks and priests. The change to Conc Aura is as I would expect it to be, and is pretty good. A few other things.

The most fundamental change in my view though is that even the so-called 'Ret-n00b' Paladins become hugely mana dependant, and purge hurts even more than it used to in terms of Mana. Those PvP sets need to be changed PDQ because as things stand Lawbringer would be far, far better (and argueably easier to get).

I still hope that this is only a 'Draft' Talent tree and that more will be introduced later further down the trees (this being the reason for no talent calc at this time).

*fingers crossed*

I did get an immense sense of satisfaction just now when I HoJ'd a rogue in duskwood and judged SoC to kill him ;)

However with this new playstyle it's gonna be hell for mana :(

hmm someone just said something in the paly forums "so, no taunt" which made me realize that at blizzcon dev's did say that they were adding a taunt for us. Did they just mean the increased aggro buff or what?

anyone had a chance to test it's effectiveness (the aggro buff)?

apparently rightous fury helps alot off tanking as concecration gets a big boost from it and holy shock is a good way to get aggro with it but it seems seal of fury was better at holding aggro than righteous fury and seal of righteousness and it doesn't work at all with seal of command

Took an increase to overall dps, but took a hit to burst damage. As a paladin, the few times I actually get in range, I want them to count. The dps increase will only be an increase if the guy just stands there and takes it like a mob.

one question I'd like to pose, how many of us are simply going to give up our paly with this patch, and just concentrate on a different character? I'm going to concentrate on my rogue more, but I still want to be able to help my party as I enjoy that aspect, so I might roll a druid as then I get to choose between being a heal-bot or going feral. It seems Druids are one of the most exciting classes in the game now, so maybe they are worth a try!

Druids are very, very fun to play. Basically three/four classes bunched in to one, i.e. very variable playing-style.

I'm just going to leave wow once this goes live. I'm not leveling another character to 60.
