The dagger is wicked, 93 dps is in range with lvl 70 blue 2h dps... but those gloves are close to an insult.
I can see the high ac having some merit in pvp, maaaybe. But an epic drop from a 25-man instance should be designed to cater to the PVE crowd, and for gods sake it should beat the 10-man instance drops by a hefty margin. Tell me that socket bonus isn't a lame joke...
Someone can probably theorycraft that 20 sp.crit/48 heal is better than 4mp5/55 heal. What you must ask yourself is if it's 10-man raid vs 25-man raid better, or just slightly better... holy palas will love the sp.crit but other specs are better helped by the mp5 imo.
Yes, I'm a tankadin. Yes, I have a complete healer gear kit in my bags with me at all times. For me, the linked Kara gloves > the Vashj gloves. Pure Holies will disagree of course.
This should be like comparing a Hakkar drop (up to iLvl68) with a Ragnaros (up to iLvl 78) drop, to use a pre-BC scale. Instead it's like comparing loot from boss 1 and boss 2 in any given instance...

Funny you should use that as an example. Peacekeeper's Gauntlets were the best healing gloves for the longest time (see this list). I wore those until the gloves dropped off Attumen.
The gem colors make perfect sense. Red for pure +healing and yellow for pure +spell crit. Nice gloves for holy paladin. Would rather have the ones off Attumen if I was Prot or Ret though.
Anonymous - the Peacekeepers are great yes, but not valid for comparasion as Ragnaros doensn't drop plate healing gloves... but if he had, you could be pretty sure they would be better than them.
