2.0.1 PTR Download

For Windows and Mac OS. The file size is 477 megabytes (no joke).

I'm not sure of the authenticity of these but here's the supposed patch notes (not fully comprehensive for some reason).

Update: Tseric explains why character transfers are disabled.

Does this mean that the beta is now public and not closed? Where can non-closedbeta people sign up?

OMG I just made a baby warrior to check out the PTR (still waiting for Nonn to copy over) and a 60 paladin told me that vengeance is still 15% and that CS is 6secs. *squee*

Ghmou, the only think I can think of which is of specific paladin interest is the change to +weapon skill. Basically now it seems to add crit rather than reducing glancing blows. I can hear Rogues and Fury Warriors screaming as we speak ;).

Apart from that nothing really jumped out at me.

The PTR build seems to be a couple builds behind the current beta, so I wouldn't get too excited about CS/Vengeance appearing un-nerfed. At this point, I've quit hoping, written off Retribution, and made plans to spec Prot.

Wait, so basically what we non-beta testers can do is download that 477mb file for the open PTR, and just play beta stuff on the public test servers?

I'm waiting to see what the final co-effecent is going to be on SoR before deciding on a leveling spec. If SoR really ends up being only 10-20 DPS lower than SoC I might go with holy or prot instead. I realize that I'd be giving up other DPS options (vengence, CS, sanctity aura).

The new reckoning looks like a very nice grinding spec.

Does anyone know what the current coeffecents are on the beta of TBC? There was a post about them awhile back, but I can't seem to dig it up.

I heard that SoR was nerfed about a week ago in the Burning Crusade beta. The current test realm is a few version behind so I can't test it out. ><.

Also, Jotc doesn't effect crusader strike, right? I'm guessing no, since crusader strike mentions +Spell damage, and jotc is holy damage.

OT:

Shamans get a 4 second stormstrike with their pvp rewards in the expansion:

http://www.thottbot.com/beta?set=594

We get the 10 second cooldown reduction on hammer of justice :(

Not all the beta stuff. The level cap is still 60, and you can see the Blood Elves and Draenai in the character creation screen but you can't make 'em or go to their zones or the Outlands.

People with beta keys, however, can do all of the above, although they've been told not to.

On a side note, even if your account is frozen you can still get on the PTR, at least far enough to make a new character :D. I'm still waiting on Mchammar to transfer over fully, he's been 'pending' for a few days.

It says I have 0 character copy[s] left. And must wait for the next phrase of testing. I only remember the last time I copied was like patch 1.9

Any help?

Completely true Ghmou. Me and Mchammar actually chatted with each other a bit just recently!

Funny thing...found another guild member (also Pally) while trying to find a Horde friend in Tyr's Hand. Small world!

Hello, I've downloaded the file.front .rar patch file. Scanned it for keyloggers and stuff, it's all clear. I'm in the ptr with a lvl 1 cuz of the char copy server been flooded.
And most of the guys on the ptr, I've asked around, they all used the file front mirror.
