The nail in the coffin?
The Draenii won't be the Alliance race. Right? Confirmed now?
I personally think they won't be, as I still believe Ogres is the race. I'm not saying that Ogres *will* be the race as I can in no way be 100% accurate in my guess. But from scouting around all the potential ones out there, they seem to be the safest bet.
I know that I'll eat my words later. But that's how it goes...
In other news, the Blood Elves finally got decided that they will have Rogues (scroll down to the second screenshot), not Hunters. If you don't recall, when the Burning Crusade was revealed, there was much discussion whether the Blood Elves would have either Rogues or Hunters. Seems like they didn't go with Hunters due to the fact Horde would have too many races with them (five out of six).
Horde still got three who can be Shaman, while Alliance only got two that can be Paladins. Will the logic of class-balance make is so that Blizzard plans the sixth Alliance race be able to be Paladins? It's an interesting perspective that isn't bought up as much as it ought to.

I don't think that the new Alliance race will be able to become Paladins because it just doesn't seem to fit.
For one, I can't think of any other race that shares the Human and Dwarven views on "the light" and is therefore eligible to be accepted into the Silver Hand.
And then, the Alliance may only have two Paladin classes, but we have three Priests. Horde only have two Priest classes, so they get three Shamans.
But with the Blood Elves, Horde get three Priest classes.
I know what you're saying and I agree. I can't think of any other race that would be accepted to the Silver Hand either.
I have to disagree that this means Alliance won't get Draenii was a race. After all, blood elves are also in Outland as enemies.

Have you considered that they may allow Gnomes to be Paladins in the expansion? They're currently the only race without a healing class, and are closely tied to the Dwarves. Just a thought.
As for this new "evidence," I don't think it rules out Draenei at all. Human players kill human Defias, pirates, etc. all over the world. If anything, it gives us a glimpse of what Draenei would look like with a more complete wardrobe displayed - the same mechanics that would allow a Draenei character class to equip and display different equipment.
I really hope it's not Ogres. They were always associated with the Horde, and still are. If you visit the Horde town in Dustwallow Marsh, you'll note that all the guards there are Ogres.
I'm thinking the new Alliance race will be able to be Hunters, as only 2 are currently able to (compared to 3 for the Horde). It's too bad Humans can't be hunters, as they look the best in just about any armor. I loved the concept art of the Human Marksman in the artbook that came with the expansion set.
I would love to see a more humanized version of the draenai, like they once were.
Doubt you'll see another race able to become paladins. I can't imagine any decisions being made that would increase the paladin population.
I'm still holding out for disaffected Tauren.
well it's almost certainly not ogres, given that blue post on the thottbot archive where drok'thul's states just that
Gnomish paladins? Blizzard seems to be trying their hardest to thin the paladin population, so no development in the game that either benefits the paladin class or would merely increase interest in it will be coming any time soon.
Gnomes will never be Paladins. They're secular because they're very materialistic.
Thank you!
